I am delving into the new futuristic world, that surpass all these ideas, to give you, the appliances that are on the, not so distant horizon.

Candy Appliances is a trusted European appliance company first established in 1955. They have developed an app that is a must have, when considering the future of appliances. The app, Simply-fi, allows its consumers the ability to control their appliances remotely, from the comfort of their own phones.  There is no better feeling than being able to heat up the oven, while being stuck in traffic. One can also be notified when the cycle of laundry is complete, while multi tasking other jobs around the house. However, having the ability to start, or stop your dryer cycle from anywhere, enables added peace of mind. Another helpful feature is the ability to create shopping lists, based on foods you usually buy and eat, or being notified when certain food may have expired in the fridge. It’s easy to configure this new technology, simply by purchasing it from your App or Play store. Once its been downloaded to your phone, you need only create a Simply-fi account and activate your Wi-Fi connection. It's then just a matter of adding all the appliances you want to connect to the app, by punching in the serial numbers. The configuration is straight forward and once connected will make the way you interact with your household appliances more streamlined than days past.

This idea may not be to everyone taste, as the kitchen is considered the heart of the home, but the idea itself has mass appeal to those who are seeking to maximise the footprint and functionality of their homes. 

There is an abundance of new and converging ideas, which have the potential to transform the way we live. From the way our kitchens look and function, to the way our appliances operate within the kitchen environment. No doubt these new technologies will be enhanced and perfected over time. As the consumers needs and wants change, so too will the way appliances work and function.
